At this time I had two favorite goats, one Pear and the other Libby.
Libby was our first Boer breeder. She was the cutest, smallest little goat we've had up until this point.
Monkey Girl's first market goat was a bottle baby we found from a local breeder. We liked how friendly he was and how easy it was to work with for Monkey. For Monkey's second year we wanted to find another bottle baby for her. To do that I needed to start searching early for them in January. When I was searching for Pearl I was searching on Craigslist. When it became time to look for her market goat I was searching on Facebook. I found several livestock pages and groups and found a great lady that had three little bottle babies. We took one for Monkey, one for a friend's kid and one for my nephew. Monkey named this market goat Sparky.
Then we got another wild crazy haired idea and decided we wanted to start a breeding Boer herd for our girls so they could breed their own market goats. I immediately went back to the same lady we got Sparky from and asked her if she had anymore bottle baby goats. She told us she did not but she knew someone just about five minutes of so from her that had one. We got really excited and started texting with him and we set up a time to go look at what he had. We were so excited when we got there and we were able to see Libby. She was so small and so extra cute; we just had to have her. The girls were so excited; they had already picked out her name before we even saw here.
Libby has always been the Boer's queen of the herd.
